Softwaters Farm

All are welcome to come and experience Softwaters Farm and the magnificent Levubu Valley.

Farm History

Michael and Suzanne Holford bought Softwaters Farm in November 1985.  Soon after arriving at Softwaters Farm, Timothy was born in February followed by Nicholas in January, two years later. Although farm life has its slow pace, much has changed since they first arrived. Softwaters Farm is a producing/working farm approximately 80 hectares in size.

There are two homes on the farm. One for the manager, the other, the old farm homestead, is where you have the pleasure of staying overnight. From the beginning Softwaters was without electricity and had to rely on solar and diesel power. Today mod cons have come to Softwaters and the latest Wi-Fi connections are available to all residents. It is advised that 4x4 vehicle are a must if there is rain and the road do get slippery and its not ideal for low clearance vehicles.

After 20 years of farming Michael and Suzanne have moved on to Haenertsburg. They have opted for a quieter life, leaving the farm activities in the capable hands of Timothy their first born. Nicholas has moved to Switzerland to follow his passion in humanitarian work with refuges.
